  1. We have been celebrating the European Day of Languages since 2006. That year we had a concert in which students sang some of the greatest pop and rock hits of the time in various languages, even in those that were not taught in school. Since then, we have had, among other things, a language quiz, a tongue twister competition, and evening of poetry, a workshop on multiculturalism and multilingualism held by a professional writer and translator, we have made EDL badges and created a language tree. Last year we asked our students to tell us why it is important to learn languages, and got a number of really funny answers, which we then used to create posters and decorate the school’s halls.
Here are a couple of photographs to illustrate some of our EDL activities.
